      Borderlands Bloodlust in WvW explained

      Summary: The Lake area in the Borderlands has been removed with "Ruins of Power"
      In this area there are 5 capture points each individually designed.
      When a world holds 3 of these points for two minutes or more, a bloodlust buff will be provided for everyone in WvW. this buff provides 50 of each statpoints.
      This can be stacked up to 3 times (for each BL-map once) for a total of 150 stat points increase.

      If a world claims and leaves these points, they will decay and have to be refreshed after a period of time, so there is no capture and ignore even if there is no enemy in the map, you'll have to have people there to refresh this buff.

      also added are more sentry points which im not sure what their use should be (tough that is a rather general idea as sentrys cant even kill dolyaks passing by [which they should be able to imo, would give sentrys a value at least])

      also, and this is now interesting: Each enemy killed by a finisher while having 1/2/3 Stacks of Bloodlust will award 1/2/3 points to the servers score!
      So basically, you down a 50 man zerg while having 3 stacks of bloodlust and finish each and everyone single handed by putting a banner through their chest (well thats what it looks like) will give your server instant 150 points to the score!


      I think the changes look interesting, however the only concern I have about this is: will protecting these points be rewarding? Will there be a repeating event that upon completion awards the people that do sit there EXP/karma/coins/WXP? or will it be (like dolyak escorting) another painful job "that someone has to do but not get anything from it?"

      if its the latter, i dont see this mechanic having an impact on wvw whatsoever as the karma-zerg-train will remain the most rewarding.

      but if its rewarding, i can totally see SWD doing this kind of stuff :D

      I am not sure if I'm not pulling this out of my ass completely, but as far as karma/WXP/... goes, these points will award nothing. It's a sPvP area in a WvW map basically and although Sakryx was crying about a lot of things like a forum whiner in his hour long video, he has good point. These are orbs. The only difference is they award points for stomping people now and are not prone to hack abuse.

      I am most intersted in the overall layout change and how this will affect how fast we can go through the center of the map. It will probably also screw spawn-to-Garrison golem rushes, because there will be more open ground and visibility and higher chance of people being there compared to the empty krait paradise.

      It is not beneficial at all to dedicate more than 5 people per map to keeping it up imo (as I said somewhere earlier). It just takes away people who could do more important things. I really don't understand what Anet wants to achieve with this. I don't think they want to funnel WvW population to sPvP like Sakryx thinks. This is more of a nod to some sPvP players and small groups going roaming in WvW.

      Blobs might roll over this and leave a few people behind to stay, but taking a larger group there and staying there is an epic waste of time which will make me cry if I see it.

      It totally screws GvGs if it's up though as every small boost counts in GvG. If the GvG scene wants to survive, they will need to schedule and dedicate some effort to keep the buffs even.

      Also: encouraging stomps in group fights outside of GvG will get you wiped more often than not. I really hope people use their brain and see the difference and don't just try and roflstomp all day long...

      Anet obviously tries to split the massive blobs and avoid the lags comming alongside and which they can't handle. But this is big fail +12.

      The idea itself is no that bad, but it would need changes to make this somehow interesting for guilds. Like activation of the ruins once every 30mins or 1 hour, buff for 30min/1h would be granted to the team who captured it.

      Also providing stat buffs is completely retarded. I would rather see smth like +5sups buff, faster upgrades, +5% dmg to rams or smth like that. WvW is just kind of pvp and pvp should stay fair. We already have retarded buffs from killing veteran npc, we have buffs for tower/keeps and now we even will have these bloodlusts. I just like fair duels, no dmg advantages, no stat advantages.
      Welp! Let's see how it goes, I'd like to advise a free day today because the WvW changes will make queues even worse and there's also other updated stuff like Teqoatl event that people might wanna check out, basically its a PvE and WvW updated, it's gonna be crowded like hell today. Meantime we can browse through the patch notes and figure out how we can make all this work to our advantage and reconsolidate class builds if big changes are made in the patch.

      I really dislike that it gives a stat buff it makes wvw even more unfair and it really makes a big defirence in all fights if a server get all buffs. If its that bad if i think it is, i will look for a new mmo to play.

      Going to play gta 5 today so i will not be online and i think the queues will not be that long today since alot of people are playing gta 5 instead of guild wars 2.
