SWD - where to go from here?

SWD - where to go from here?

As of last Tuesday we've come to the sad conclusion that there is no point in keeping things going in Guild Wars 2 under the SWD banner. To much of a struggle were the last weeks or even month and recovery seems impossible because of various internal organ failures.

The question I ask myself now is, does that mean the end for Swords of Underworld? If we're looking at what we consider to be Swords of Underworld I tend to say no. For many people SWD is more than a guild, it's become their family, close friends and like-minded. It's a community, and a community can exist without limiting itself to one particular guild, game mode, or even game. People will go their own ways, most have said they will want to stick together in GW2 and join a guild in bulk, which underlines the things I said above. Not everyone will be joining there, some might not even carry on playing Guild Wars 2.

We've all found together with GW2 WvW, but the enjoyment at Guild Missions, Treasure Hunts and other random events clearly show the connection exists beyond WvW.

And this is where this forum gets its place. I am willing to keep this forum running even beyond the 31st of December as a community platform for everyone that wishes to be part of this community. A community that enables interaction with likeminded and allowes to arrange to play together in whichever game or gamemode people want to play.

Because the guild found its end, it does not mean the spirit will go to rest.

If people are willing to carry on the community we've built, I'm happy to provide the platform. Feel free to comment and discuss on how we can do things, set up a forum structure and everything else.

on a sidenote: Sando and Tal still owe me a awesome design for this place, so keep that in mind!

Bear in mind when you are going to reply, this is not to look back and point out what mistakes were made, this is to look forward so we can keep those people we met close.

I want to keep in touch with the people I met in SWD. Steam and other platforms are nice for picking up a game together or occasional chats, but a forum is a forum. You can write all you want/need here and people can give you feedback and cheer you up and all. Also Rv's apartment is going to be ready in 2/2015 or something like that. How would we ever know how it looks like and if he stocked up on beer before we move there? :D

So if it is not a bother for you or excessive expense or you'd want me to drop some Dollah on you, I want this forum to stay alive (the domain especially). Regarding hosting, that may be a different story as you pointed out earlier. I have 2 possible solutions in mind, so let me get back to you on that soon.

I believe Rv is ok with us using the Teamspeak server he is hosting, so we might hang around there if we're not playing for Piken. It's in the MotD in guild, so I think it's fine :) He'll love to wreck any of you in a nice Quake Live match, btw.

Edit: if the forum activity dies, we can always close it later on too..

I think it would be a great idea to keep the forum going as this would be the best way for a lot of people to stay in contact.

It would be good to have a similar setup to this one, just have a section with games then have sub sections for games where you can arrange times for people to come and play with you or give them your details for the game.

would be best way to stay in contact like tal says the forum is the forum a lot of memories on here aswell.
