Flood disaster, we need your help!

Flood disaster, we need your help!

Dear friends from around the world. As you probably don't
know, since world media treat this as something almost not worth
mentioning, Serbia and Bosnia are currently suffering from the biggest
floods that hit these countries in their history. It is understatement
to say that these floods have biblical proportions. Towns and villages
basically disappeared under the water and tens of thousands of people
lost their homes and everything they have.

I am hoping that you would
help us in this time of need because we need help more than ever. Even
when water withdraws, tens of thousands of people will still be
homeless, their homes will need rebuilding and they need to be taken
care of until then becaue now they have nothing. They need everything,
food, clothes, medicines and God knows what else.

Please share this with your friends and family and with all good people
willing to help. Even if it is 1 dollar or 1 euro it means one baby
will have bottle of milk tomorrow.

Here are some of the ways in which you can help:

This is really a great testament for the peoples of the countries involved. I hope you prevail through these challenges.

It's 50% of Russia's main news channels' headlines btw, we've already sent 2 planes with supplies and rescue specialists (yeah Russkies ain't that bad really, don't believe your western TVs).

Yes, iFruit, Russia is helping so much words cannot describe it. Next to our neighbors Croatia and Macedonia, Russia was the first country that reacted immediately and sent helicopters, special forces and material aid. Your soldiers showed such courage you wouldn't believe. Maybe most known story is about Russian soldier who saw someone drowning (have in mind that river flow was extremely fast) and he jumped in that water to save that person. He hit his head because he was basically jumping in the flooded town but continued to swim. He pulled out drowning person and then everybody saw blood poring down his face. He earned skull fracture but he ignored it and saved human life.

I also have information that Norway TV stations had good coverage and we got huge amount of donations from them. But sad thing is that Novak Djokovic had to beg foreign TV stations to pay attention to what is going on in Serbia and Bosnia. BBC before that had almost 0 coverage about destruction that happened and people who lost their lives, but on their headlines was news about trial for war crimes (against a Serb) which they can't complete after several years.

It's a harsh lesson we have learned long time ago that not every life is worth the same my friend.

Gosh Zen, that's a strong story. Sadly our news only shows the little guy's stories if he ends up dead while accomplishing his endeavor.

That aside, I'm fairly glad the death toll is as low as it is - you may be aware that floods in our country mostly affect already distressed regions and the victim count sometimes goes into the hundreds. Local authorities are corrupt ignorant bastards mostly that don't give a duck if it doesn't affect their front yard, so the simple folk only have Putin to count on (yes LoL, but that's true). Ex.: last year a few towns got drowned in our far east region, the homesteads were mostly in an non-restorable state. Clearly no insurance on them or shit. So he forced the governor's office to completely rebuild the towns before winter - which comes down to -40 degrees C in those parts - coz otherwise the folk would just freeze their arses off to death to the amusement of the former come autumn.

Hope all goes well for those affected by the drought and your authorities are more caring and responsible than ours.

Upd.: Russian Orthodox Church is rallying its own relief delegation to Serbia in coordination with Serbian Orthodox Church. The group will be operating mainly in the Valev eparchy. Food, clothes and other basic commodities can also be accessed from/contributed to the Russian Orthodox Church mission in Belgrade (approx. 47 tons of supplies available at this time, will be partially distributed through the regions).

Thx guys, I'm happy to see things are improving and there's more awerness.

But one thing really stands out in this situation. EU is completely useless creation full of useless selfish bureaucracy. I am completely apolitical person but after this I hope Serbia never joins it. As a matter of fact, it was EU that conditioned us to reduce number of soldiers and reform the army. If we hadn't done that, I doubt there would be any victims. But now army didn't have enough manpower and resources. Croatia, Slovenia and Russia sent help immediately but for some it was too late. Help from EU we can expect in next three months while they establish if we qualify for it in the first place.

I know, I'm reading the news non stop. It's horrible that now Croatia is added to the list. It just increases the need for more awareness about the situation.

I know that people pay little attention until it directly affects them, but ppl should be aware that Serbia and Croatia are huge food exporters and consequences will be felt all over Europe.

Aye. The worst part of that is, people will make millions buying up food stocks to sell when the price rises, none of that will go towards the benefit of anyone over there.
This makes me see red and my blood boil. Not a word in U.S. news and we watch U.S. world news nightly. When I googled Flooding in Serbia and Bosnia, I was given one link from the weather channel and one from The Guardian (British newpaper) and one from BBC news (there was a smaller nondescript link for "other Serbia and Bosnia flooding" that took me to Time magazine, but the information that is readily available to me is deplorable. We are one people and one world.

I tried to make a donation, Zen, but only gofundme.com/98kvf8 workded for me. I am not sure that is a trusted site. I would prefer a known charitable organization, if you know of one and I will also research the Red Cross and see if they are providing assistance.

God be with all of these people.

      Thanks for your support, Ave.

This donations site was recommended to me by reliable people. It was made by a Serbian guy living in San Francisco and it was originally intended as help for Serbia and Bosnia but later Croatia was affected by floods also. If you wish, you can donate to official PayPal account of Serbian government floodrelief@gov.rs. I am not sure about PayPal accounts for Bosnia and Croatia. I am hoping Sando can help me there.

This is article I found with ways to help all 3 countries:
      gmfus.org/archives/how-to-help…-herzegovina-and-croatia/

You can also donate to Novak Djokovic foundation:

      novakdjokovicfoundation.org/donate.12.html

I am sure it would be distributed to all 3 affected countries. After all, he is the person that managed to attract the biggest foreign media attention regarding the issue.
