Hello everyone,
2013 is ending in only a few hours. Ragnar over in down under will be the first one to enter 2014 in about 22 hours from the creation of this post.
I want to take this moment and thank everyone in this guild and those that have been in this guild for the amazing times.
Back in March we started with an idea, I can say now this Idea became reality. SWD is a strong WvW Guild and get's a lot of recognition, not only on Piken Square, but also across other Servers, not only once we’ve been asked to GvG and we feel proud about it. Though not having a focus on GvGs led to turning down the requests, for now.
The Idea became reality, but this doesn’t mean we have to stop. There is still a lot to work on, there is new and more goals to go after.
It hasn’t been always easy we went through tough times with low attendance, but we always kept looking forward, better times will surely come if we don’t lose our minds and remember what this guild is about. We are now fielding easily 20 people on raids, even during an official break towards the end of this year we get 15 people on an open raid, good times.
SWD has not reached the peak of its potential yet. 2014 will bring us new GW2 content (EOTM) and also we’ll start a journey at organized and structured GvG. More good times to come. But despite the bright future, keep always in mind some down times can happen, it’s natural for people to leave. We had great losses on our path and yet we are still around and stronger than ever.
I want to especially thank Venn Adamant and Snow as the main initiators to found SWD (I know Snow will read this, not sure about Venn ;P). Furthermore Tal Emenar, Sandokan, Persefonni and Uruzet (yeah the other Councils that have to deal with me) deserve mentioning here for stepping up in hard times and helping to carry on.
I am looking forward to 2014 and more fun time with this guild and the people in it.
Keep it up!
